What happens to my registration if LAKE GARDA 42 is cancelled?

In the event of a complete cancellation of LAKE GARDA 42, participants may request a refund of the entry fee if the cancellation is the responsibility of the organiser. If you are already registered for LAKE GARDA 42 and have paid the entry fee in full, your refund will be made automatically to your bank account on file with us without you having to take any action yourself. If, contrary to expectations, we still need information from you, we will contact you. Cash payment is not possible. The refund will be processed within a few days.

What is the minimum age for participating in a race of LAKE GARDA 42?

The minimum age for participation in the marathon LG42 is 20 years old and for participation in the half marathon LG21 is 18 years old.

Is it possible to request a change of distance?

Yes, distance registration changes are possible under the following conditions:

  1. Each participant can change the distance themselves using the link that they find in the confirmation email received after the registration was completed.
  2. If you change your registration to a route with a lower entry fee than the original registration fee, there is no entitlement to a refund of the difference. Registration can be changed free of charge until 23 March 2026 as long as places are still available for the route in question. After this date or when the participant limit for this route has been reached, no more changes can be made.
  3. If you change your registration to a route with a higher entry fee than the original registration fee, the respective difference is due. Registration can be changed free of charge until 23 March 2026 as long as places are still available for the route in question. After this date or when the participant limit for this route has been reached, no more changes can be made.

Is there a template for the medical certificate that is required for the sporting classification?

There is no specific form required for the medical certificate.

The medical certificate must indicate that you are fit to run a marathon after undergoing the following examinations exercise ECG, spirometry test, urine test, measurement of blood pressure at rest and under stress. Additionally, it must include the following additional information: personal and family history.

The certificate can be presented in English or Italian and must be signed and stamped by the doctor who carried out the tests. The only specification required is that the certificate must be marked “athletics”.

Is transportation from one location to another included in the registration fee?

Yes, we offer a shuttle service that will take you to the individual locations on Sunday, 12 April 2026.

Is transport from one location to another at the event also provided for spectators and accompanying persons?

The shuttle service is limited for participants who have booked the corresponding shuttle connections.
However, there are scheduled ferries for all accompanying persons.

Will the roads be closed to traffic?

Yes, the following roads are closed on 12.04.2026:
SS45bis between Limone and Riva (in both directions) from 8:30 to 10:30 am. The road through Limone is not affected.
SS249 between Torbole and Malcesine/Navene (in both directions) from 9:30am to 03:00pm. The road through Malcesine is not affected.
In the municipalities of Riva and Arco, there will be further road closures at times, but these can be avoided.

Where and when can I pick up my bib and race package?

The bibs and race packages can be collected on Friday, 10 April 2026, from 03:00 pm to 08:00 pm and on Saturday, 11 April 2026, from 10:00 am to 07:00 pm. It will not be possible to pick up the Race Package on race day.

Are there accommodation packages and special arrangements with hotels?

What is the difference between competitive and non-competitive race?

Everything is the same for the competitive and non-competitive races (e.g. start, finish, route).

In addition, everyone receives the following benefits:
– Official timekeeping
– Results list and online certificate
– Participant gift
– Feeding zones on all race courses
– Final feeding zone at the finish in Malcesine
– Finisher medal
– Starter bag
– Medical care
– Pacemaker service
– Free shuttle service (bus & ferry) between the different locations of the LAKE GARDA 42

The only difference is that there will be a separate results list for the athletes taking part in the non-competitive races, which will be drawn up in alphabetical order only, and there will be no award ceremony or prize-giving.

Who can participate in the side-events?

The following persons can participate in the side-events organised within the LAKE GARDA 42 event:
– Marathon/half-marathon participants
– Accompanying persons of participants
– Tourists and any other person interested in the side events
