X-BIONIC LAKE GARDA 42 – Third Edition 2024

The third edition of the X-BIONIC LAKE GARDA 42, which took place over the weekend of 12-14 April 2024, set a new participation record with more than 4,200 registered runners from 72 countries, which is exceptional even compared to the already high numbers of 2023.

In the men’s race of the X-BIONIC LAKE GARDA 42.195 kilometres, starting in Limone sul Garda and finishing in Malcesine, the finish line saw the Slovenian Michal Puskar of the bernohy.sk club in first place with a time of 2:48:10, 2:48:10 followed by the Swede Andreas Hultqvist of the Tullinge SK club, 43 seconds behind, and the Italian Alessio Zoller of the Atletica Team Loppio, who finished the race in 2:51:38.

In the women’s race it was the Polish runner Karolina Wasniewska from the Biegiem Radom! club who stopped the clock in 3:12:57. On the podium were the German Sarah Winter with a gap of 2:31 and the Austrian Christina Mandlbauer from LG Kirchdorf with a time of 3:25:42.

For the third year in a row, the female audience confirmed its attachment to the race: more than half of the participants in the LG21 marathon, which started in Arco di Trento and always finished in Malcesine, were women.

For the second year running, the German Philine Meister of the Early Birds club was confirmed as the fastest with a time of 1:20:55 1:20:55, followed by her compatriot Nelly Rassmann of the TV Planegg-Krailling club with a difference of 1:18 and Italy’s Bianca Campidelli of the Atletica Rimini Nord club with a difference of 1:27.
Among the men, success for German Tom Förster of the club LG Braunschweig with a time of 1:11:40; on the other two steps of the podium were Italians Luca Vivaldi of the club Stivo Running A.S.D. (1:15:05) and Diego Bazzoli of the club Valchiese (1:15:54).

The LG KIDS, the run for the little ones, is also an integral part of the event. More than 100 children up to the age of 12 have registered for the run of just over one kilometre on Saturday 13 April on the Rocca di Riva del Garda, the fortress that once protected the town. A sporting event for the runners of the future that is above all fun.

Thanks to the cooperation with various partners, the FILA Morning Run and the X-BIONIC Shakeout Run on Saturday 13th were also held at this edition. Two new side events completed the rich programme of the Pure Running weekend!
